Frequently Asked Questions...

Where are you located, what areas do you serve?

We are located in Lakehills (aka Pipe Creek) Texas, 78063. Just a short drive from Helotes, NW San Antonio, Alamo Ranch, Bandera, Castroville, & Uvalde. We serve Bandera, Bexar, Medina, Uvalde, and surrounding counties.

What animals do you take in?

We take in injured and orphaned native Texas species for rehabilitation and release purposes only. This includes small mammals such as squirrels, rabbits, non-migratory birds, and small birds of prey.

Do you take exotic or domestic animals?

We may offer sanctuary or rehoming services for exotic animals on a case-by-case basis. Exotic animals we currently house include birds and reptiles. We also have many farm animals, most of which are rescues.

At this time we do NOT offer services for dogs or cats.

Do you take deer?

Unfortunately at this time, we can NOT take in native whitetail deer due to chronic wasting disease (CWD, aka "zombie deer"). We are located in Bandera County, which is currently an active "containment & surveillance" county for whitetail. Any rehabilitators based in an active CWD county are unable to assist with whitetail at this time, as per Texas Parks & Wildlife regulations.

Do you offer educational events?

We offer different educational programs to fit your needs, including homeschool group activities, children's arts & crafts, adult seminars, and general wildlife rehab education. Please submit an inquiry through our contact form if you'd like to set up an event.

Are you a non-profit? How do you fund your rescue?

At this time we can not offer tax deductions on any donations made to our organization, as we have not obtained a 501(c)3 status as of yet.

Unfortunately wildlife rehabilitators are not state funded, we assume 100% of the financial responsibility of running an animal rescue. We currently fund our rescue mostly out of pocket, and from our online shop sales.
